Hitachi Data Systems Launches First Asia Pacific DC

Hitachi Data Systems, the IT storage systems subsidiary of Hitachi, announced the launch of its Asia Pacific Distribution Centre at Singapore’s Airport Logistics Park in June. The facility will cater for a complete range of products including Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V & VM and Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage 2000 series.

The main storage equipment in the DC was provided by SSI Schaefer, specifically, selective pallet racking with wire mesh decking and R3000 shelving systems.

Having a facility in Singapore enables Hitachi to stream line operations and reduce transportation and warehousing costs by virtue of being closer to customer locations and Hitachi Japan, the product supplier.
